The problem is, without the necessary skills to deal with advanced technology, we cannot use it responsibly. For this, we need to become better digital citizens for the sake of everyone around us. We aim to close the digital divide in our area and also transform ordinary citizens into DigiCitizens.

How To Be A Responsible Digital Citizen?

1

Avoid sharing too much!

Even if there are a lot of things you might want to share, it's best to err on the side of caution when it comes to disclosing personal information like your complete name, address, bank information, and anything else that makes it simple for someone to locate you.

2

Protect your privacy!

Keep an eye on your privacy settings to make sure you're OK with who may view what on your social media profiles. We advise taking an hour at least every six months to review the privacy settings on each of your social media accounts. Making passwords secure and changing passwords frequently makes it more difficult for hackers to access your data.

3

Check where your information comes from!

Whenever hitting the "share" button, you must make sure your information is accurate. If you don't check your sources, it's simple to locate and distribute false information in the current political climate.

4

Report illegal activity and poor behavior!

Reporting unusual behavior like cyber harassment is just an important element of being a good digital citizen in order to prevent future incidents. If you witness someone engaging in cyberbullying, report their account right away. You should also report anyone who uploads anything that could be considered illegal.
